BOROUGH ASSISTANT

The City-Wide Task Force on Housing Court, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting for the rights of the unrepresented in NYC’s housing court. The Task Force fights to make housing court a more just place by working to reform housing court through policy initiatives, court monitoring and community organizing. The Task provides information on landlord/tenant issues at information tables in NYC’s five housing courts and through a daily phone hotline. The following position is available at the Task Force: Borough Assistant.

Description
The position involves directly assisting individuals avoid eviction by providing rental arrears referrals and providing general information about housing court process and procedures to clients at City-Wide's information table located in one of the housing courts of New York City.

Qualifications:
We are seeking a motivated, computer literate individual with a demonstrated commitment to social justice issues, preferably with Spanish language skills.

Salary: $14.85 per hour, with excellent benefits including health, dental and annual leave.
