CAMPAIGNS
Affordable Housing is
a complex issue. No single law or policy can solve all problems
- it requires an ongoing, comprehensive effort. For that
reason, Met Council plays an active role in many different
campaigns throughout the city, state and nation to protect and
reserve affordable housing and tenants rights. We work closely
with advocacy groups, community-based organizations, policy
analysts, elected officials and individual citizens in our
efforts to protect, preserve and improve the housing stock of
New York City.

RENT
& EVICTION PROTECTION - The bedrock of
New York City's affordable housing
stock, rent regulated housing is home to over 2 million
New Yorkers. Constantly under attack, the
rent laws are extremely vulnerable to being
